Experience a diverse 7-day journey from the wildlife landscapes of Assam to the high-altitude mountains of Arunachal Pradesh with this Nameri and Tawang tour. The journey begins from Guwahati with a drive to Nameri, where travellers can enjoy a peaceful jungle walk and, during the winter months, opt for an exciting river rafting experience. From Nameri, the route follows the Kameng River towards Bhalukpong before ascending into the mountains and reaching the scenic town of Dirang. The journey continues towards Tawang through some of Arunachal Pradesh’s most spectacular landscapes, including Nyukmadung War Memorial, Sela Pass, Sela Lake and Nuranang Waterfall. In Tawang, explore the region’s Buddhist heritage through visits to Tawang Monastery, Urgeling Monastery and Ani Gompa, followed by an evening at the Tawang War Memorial and its light and sound show. A dedicated high-altitude excursion takes you to Penga Teng Tso, the beautiful Sungester Lake, popularly known as Madhuri Lake, and Bum La on the India-China border. The return journey takes you through Bomdila, where a monastery stay provides another opportunity to experience the region’s Buddhist atmosphere and observe monks during morning prayers before returning to Guwahati.
