Discover the contrasting beauty of Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya on this 11-day journey through the mountains, valleys, monasteries, waterfalls and traditional villages of Northeast India. Beginning in Guwahati, the tour takes you through the scenic landscapes of Assam towards Dirang and Tawang, with memorable stops at Gyuto Monastery, Nyukmadung War Memorial, Sela Pass, Sela Lake and the spectacular Nuranang Waterfall. Tawang introduces you to the region’s rich Buddhist heritage through Tawang Monastery and Urgeling Monastery, along with the historic Tawang War Memorial. The journey continues into the higher reaches of Tawang with an excursion to Penga Teng Tso, Shungester Lake and Bum La, subject to weather conditions and applicable permissions. After returning through Dirang or Bomdila, the route continues to Meghalaya and the beautiful hill station of Shillong. Explore Umiam Lake before travelling to Cherrapunjee, where waterfalls, viewpoints and caves create some of the most striking landscapes of the journey. Continue through Dawki to the clear waters of the Umngot River and the Riwai Living Root Bridge before reaching Mawlynnong. The final leg covers Laitlum and Shillong before returning to Guwahati. With local homestays, monasteries and hotels, dedicated vehicle with driver-cum-guide, breakfast and local guide support, this itinerary offers a diverse experience of Northeast India’s natural and cultural landscapes.
