Overview

The Char Dham is a sacred Hindu pilgrimage circuit in Uttarakhand, consisting of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. Each site is associated with a river and a deity—Yamuna, Ganga, Shiva, and Vishnu respectively—and the yatra is believed to wash away sins and lead to salvation.

Tungnath is the world’s highest Shiva temple and part of the Panch Kedar. Located near Kedarnath, it lies on the route to Chandrashila and is known for its spiritual significance and scenic trek. Though not part of the Char Dham, it holds deep religious importance for devotees of Lord Shiva.
