Overview
Embark on a memorable 6-day road journey from Guwahati to the high-altitude landscapes of Tawang, combining Buddhist heritage, dramatic mountain passes, pristine lakes, waterfalls and meaningful war memorials. The journey begins from Guwahati and takes you through the scenic landscapes of Assam before ascending into Arunachal Pradesh, with a stop at Gyuto Monastery and an overnight stay in the mountain town of Dirang. The next day brings spectacular Himalayan scenery as you travel towards Tawang, stopping at Nyukmadung War Memorial, Sela Pass, Sela Lake and the magnificent Nuranang Waterfall before reaching your homestay in Tawang. Explore the cultural heart of the region on Day 3 with visits to Tawang Monastery, Urgeling Monastery and Ani Gompa, followed by the Tawang War Memorial and its light and sound show.
