Discover the scenic beauty and distinctive character of Meghalaya on a six-day journey through Shillong, Cherrapunjee and Mawlynnong. Beginning from Guwahati, the route enters the hills with a stop at the serene Umiam Lake, where you can admire the landscape and optionally enjoy speed boating before continuing towards Shillong. The journey then moves deeper into the Khasi Hills and the spectacular surroundings of Cherrapunjee, covering attractions such as Elephant Falls, Mawkdok Viewpoint, Wah Kaba Falls and Arwah Caves. The following day offers a choice between exploring more of Sohra’s celebrated natural attractions, including Seven Sisters Falls, Eco Park, Dainthlen Falls, Nohkalikai Falls and Mawsmai Caves, or undertaking the memorable trek to the Double-Decker Living Root Bridge at Nongriat. From Cherrapunjee, travel towards Mawlynnong through Dawki, where the transparent waters of the Umngot River create another striking experience. Continue to Mawlynnong for a glimpse into its exceptionally clean village environment before discovering the Riwai Living Root Bridge and returning to Shillong. The journey concludes with a relaxed drive back to Guwahati, creating a well-rounded experience of Meghalaya’s waterfalls, caves, villages, viewpoints, rivers and living root bridges.
