Overview
Experience the cultural richness, historical heritage and natural beauty of Manipur on this 6-day journey centred around the vibrant Sangai Festival. The tour begins with your arrival at Imphal, followed by a relaxed half-day exploration depending on your arrival time. You can visit the State Museum before experiencing the colourful cultural performances at the Sangai Festival venue. The following day is dedicated to discovering Imphal’s important landmarks, including Kangla Fort, Ima Keithel, Saheed Minar, RCKS Art Gallery, Mapal Kangjeibung and the WWII Cemetery, followed by another evening at the festival venue. Day 3 takes you towards the Burma border, with a day trip to Tamu in Myanmar, where you can explore the local bazaar and Buddhist monastery before enjoying views of the India-Burma border mountains near Tengnoupal. The journey then continues towards Loktak Lake, with stops at the Red Hill battlefield, India Peace Memorial and INA Memorial Complex before reaching the floating lake homestay. The next day combines nature and wildlife through an early visit to Keibul Lamjao National Park, followed by boating on Loktak Lake to observe fishing activities, floating huts and migratory birds. The journey concludes with a transfer to Imphal Airport on Day 6, leaving travellers with a memorable combination of festival celebrations, cultural heritage, historical sites, wildlife and the unique landscapes of Manipur.
